virgolotus | I'm curious to know if it's all the same with gay people in astrology. Let's say with a gay male, would Mars be the reason why they're attracted to certain guys and Venus with lesbians? Also any other changes, if there are any? I would love to hear about it!

i have to say your theory sounds very interesting but im not very sure if its correct i have venus in scorpio in the 8th (unaspected) i have mars in scorpio in the 10th mars trine moon mars conjunct pluto mars sextile uranus also my pullen chart said mars was my 2nd strongest planet while my venus was 5th ...and yet im gay.... of course there might be other things to take into consideration but i cant see how my mars was "reversed" in my chart |

I'm inclined to believe the heterocentric views of astrology (girls like Mars, boys like Venus) don't give leave much room for other sexual preferences or gender identities. I see them more as just energies. I see charts as indicating the types of energies people are drawn or averse to. A man who is inclined toward ultra femininity may very well be attracted to women, but if he were attracted to a man, the likelihood of that man being ultra feminine may be high. The theme in my chart draws me to be attracted to strong feminine women and strong sensitive men. I find however in relationships I prefer to be the providing force when I am with a woman, but the one who is provided for when I am with a guy. Alternately, I have the tendency to attract feminine but strong guys because they sense in me that I like to provide for feminine partners. I think it turns out to be a lot more complex for some people, than previously believed. |

Methinks it may not be so much about aspects anymore... but ultimately a personal choice to associate with one more than the other. EDIT: And in choosing to associate with one or the other, then perhaps they'd feel more inclined/attracted towards the opposite sex. |
amowls** | I think Venus and Mars play a role in who you're attracted to, but for simplicity's sake I go with "Venus represents ideal woman, Mars represents ideal man" when talking to n00bz. Even if you're straight, human sexuality exists on a spectrum. No one is all the way gay or all the way straight, just like no one is all the way feminine or all the way masculine. |

i belive so too kinda hard to do that when you have venus and mars in the same sign :P (not stating any opinion about planets sign and homosexuality!!!) |

Totally agreed! I think the theory I thought up is a very bare bones, generic way of seeing it astrologically, if we were to attempt to map or create a blueprint of homosexuality or any other type of sexuality. But as you said, sexuality is very complex subject - too complex to even be explained or mapped through astrology, I think. |
athenegoddess | My best friend from childhood, a girl was straight. But as she got older, she revealed she was really gay. She isn't manly or anything, she's actually a very pretty Taurus. She has: Venus 0 Cancer Uranus 0 Capricorn She came out when Pluto was at 0 Capricorn. |

Well, that may explain bisexuality... But like I said, I think sexuality is too complex to really map, with personal choice, astrology, culture, and personal experience being a few factors. |
RegardesPlatero | The way that I look at it is that Mars is more sex and Venus is more about love and relationships. So, even with a straight person, that's how I personally interpret it. |

Haha I always thought that too. I always thought for bisexuals both venus and mars would be active. For instance most bisexual women I've met still have extremely feminine traits, and the men are usually masculine. Of course if you get to know them you'll see some of the masculine and feminine energies in their personality. |

Frozen Queen | I have to agree with Xiiro here in that astrology's heterocentric view doesn't leave much for other interpretations but I don't go according to it. I for example, have an 8H Aries Mars and a 2H Libra Venus and while I'm attracted to dark, brooding "masculine" men, I also prefer them to be cultured and educated and have manners and discretion which concurs with my Venus sign. I take into account both the Mars and Venus sign when computing attraction. Mars to me is expressed in the way a person approaches sexuality, Venus to sensuality. If I were to engage in a one night stand, I would be expressing my Mars but if i were to date someone, I would also employ my Venus. My close friendships which are platonic are exclusively Venusian. ------------------ Ask Me anything. Anything. I will contrive to bring you the answer. The whole universe will I use to do this. So be on the lookout. This book is far from My only tool. You may ask a question, then put this book down. But watch. Listen. The words to the next song you hear. The information in the next article you read. The story line of the next movie you watch. The chance utterance of the next person you meet. Or the whisper of the next river, the next ocean, the next breeze that caresses your ear—all these devices are Mine; all these avenues are open to Me. I will speak to you if you will listen. I will come to you if you will invite Me. I will show you then that I have always been there. All ways. ♥ |

I think natural for us to be curious. I know this guy with a venus conjunct mars exact who just likes to fool around, it hardly matters who its with. I guess people could argue hes bisexual but he can not have romantic feelings for men. |

That's really interesting, thanks for sharing that. I could relate to that in a way, I have Venus in Libra and Mars in Gemini |
